Our Restorative Dentistry Services
Replace one or more missing teeth with a bridge. A bridge is made up of an artificial tooth that is fused between two crowns and extends across an area that has no teeth. It is held firmly in place by your own teeth or by dental implants. It helps you bite and chew properly, plus, it provides support to the surrounding teeth and prevents them from shifting. It also restores the shape of your mouth. Often referred to as a “fixed bridge” or a “fixed dental prosthesis,” it is permanent, and cannot be removed. There are many different types of bridges. Dr. Joly will conduct a detailed examination to determine which one of these is the best for you.
Single-visit CEREC® Dental Crowns
Joly Dental Care offers CEREC® one-visit porcelain crowns for teeth that are damaged by injury or decay. Advanced dental technology allows us to make the crowns in our office for fast, same-day treatments. Sophisticated digital imaging ensures a perfect fit while eliminating the need (and time taken) for temporary crowns. Precise colour matching enables you to have a natural-looking dental restoration in a day. Our patients also find these metal-free crowns more comfortable. Dr. Joly will discuss your treatment in detail.
Partial or Complete Dentures
An accident, illness, poor oral health or age can sometimes result in the loss of some or all of your teeth. This can make eating and talking difficult. Dentures are artificial replacements for your natural teeth and gums. They help you bite and chew properly as well as improve speech and facial appearance. When you have a few missing teeth, you can opt for partial dentures. They are made up of one or more artificial teeth held in place by clasps that fit onto your nearby natural teeth. Complete dentures are meant for individuals who have no teeth at all. Both types can be removed at night when you sleep and for cleaning purposes. Talk to Dr. Joly about your options.
Dental implants are alternatives to bridges and dentures. They can be used to replace missing roots as well as support artificial replacement teeth. Patients with healthy gums and sufficient bone can opt for this procedure. A dental implant is an artificial root made of titanium metal which is inserted into the jawbone. It replaces the root of a natural tooth. An artificial tooth is then attached to the implant which anchors it in place. Implants are comfortable and look like natural teeth. Dr. Joly can determine whether you are a good candidate for implants.
Dental Inlays and Onlays
Dental inlays and onlays are filling materials that are used to repair teeth with moderate decay or damage. A dental inlay is placed in the centre of a tooth while an onlay is applied on the inside, outside or points of a tooth. Both inlays and onlays are stable dental restorations that can protect and strengthen damaged teeth. They also preserve most of the healthy tooth structure. Joly Dental Care offers ceramic inlays and onlays that are strong, look natural and last long. Dr. Joly can answer any questions you may have about this restorative procedure.
A root canal can help save your tooth when the nerve gets infected and there is a risk of losing it. Keeping it prevents adjacent teeth from moving and causing jaw problems. It will also help you avoid having to replace it with an artificial one. During the procedure, the infected, injured or dead pulp is removed from inside the canal. The area is then cleaned and sealed with a permanent filling or a crown. Neglecting an infected tooth can cause serious oral health problems. Saving your tooth is Dr. Joly’s first priority!
